Experience
I’m a recent UCSB graduate with a B.S. in Financial Mathematics & Statistics and 7+ years of tutoring experience! I’ve supported 100+ students from elementary through high school in Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus/Calculus, Statistics, and introductory science courses. At UCSB, I co-founded a nonprofit tutoring club that provided free academic support, coordinated volunteers, and built weekly lesson plans—promoted by local school districts and news outlets. I’ve been recommended by my high school teachers and have assisted them during class lessons. My students consistently gain confidence and raise their grades, and teachers often invited me to collaborate on targeted practice plans!
Teaching Methodology
I start by asking students (and parents, when helpful) for input on goals, strengths, and past challenges because every student learns differently! I make sure to be cautious and flexible with my approach: I try a few methods early on and lean into what the student responds to best. I also listen closely and pay attention to both behaviors and results, using that feedback to adjust pacing, strategies, and practice. I like to use fun memory tools and simple mnemonics, demonstrate ideas with clear visuals, build mastery through consistent practice and repetition, and mirror the teacher’s classroom methods so everything stays aligned! Each session ends with a quick check-in on what clicked, what needs more work, and what’s next.
Why Choose Grace?
A client should choose me if you want a tutor who’s equal parts coach, cheerleader, and subject expert! I bring seven years of results with 100+ students, a flexible style that adapts to how your child learns, and upbeat sessions that turn stress into steady wins. I align tutoring with the teacher’s curriculum, track progress so improvements are visible, and send quick updates so parents stay in the loop. I’ve been recommended by teachers, co-founded a UCSB tutoring nonprofit promoted by local districts and news outlets, and I’m reliable, punctual, and easy to reach. Whether it’s classwork, homework, or exam prep, I make learning clear, confidence-building, and—yes—actually fun!
