Experience
I have a strong background in teaching and mentoring, both academically and professionally. I earned a B.S. in Physics with dual minors in Math and Astronomy from the University of Redlands, where I regularly supported peers in coursework and study groups. For the past five years, I've been the lead trainer within the Operations team at Morgan Stanley Investment Management, where I specialize in onboarding and mentoring new hires. My tutoring approach focuses on breaking down complex topics and helping students develop strong quantitative reasoning through a solid foundation of conceptual understanding.
Teaching Methodology
My teaching methodology centers around breaking down complex concepts into simpler, relatable components. I help students build a strong conceptual foundation, which in turn supports deeper quantitative reasoning and problem-solving skills—especially important in subjects like physics and math. I tailor my approach based on each student’s learning style, whether they learn best through visual aids, step-by-step problem solving, analogies, or interactive discussions. I’m patient, encouraging, and always ready to explain a concept in multiple ways until it clicks. I aim to create a supportive learning environment where students feel confident asking questions, making mistakes, and ultimately mastering the material at their own pace.
Why Choose Charles?

I bring a structured yet flexible approach to tutoring, blending analytical rigor with clear, approachable explanations. As the lead trainer on my team, I’ve received consistent feedback for making complex processes easy to understand and for my patient, supportive teaching style. I bring that same mindset to tutoring: encouraging curiosity, breaking down complex problems, and helping students build the confidence to tackle challenges head-on.
