I have experience tutoring multiple college students in General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry, helping them strengthen their understanding of difficult concepts, improve their problem-solving skills, and prepare for exams. Teaching Methodology
My teaching approach centers on helping students understand how to arrive at an answer rather than simply providing it. When a student struggles with a problem, I first identify where their reasoning begins to break down and then use guiding questions to help them work through the concept themselves. I emphasize recognizing patterns, understanding underlying principles, and developing problem-solving strategies that can be applied to unfamiliar questions. Because students learn differently, I adapt my explanations and pacing to the individual, whether that means breaking a concept into smaller steps, using diagrams and examples, or working through additional practice problems. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and gradually becoming more independent learners.
