What is your cancellation policy?

We recognize that sickness, family events, or other unexpected occurrences may arise such that you are unable to keep your reserved time slot. With advance notice, we are happy to reschedule tutoring at no additional cost. However, since it is nearly impossible to fill a tutoring session without warning sufficiently in advance, we require 24 hours notice for cancellations or we will charge for the cancelled session. If you need to cancel a session, please contact us.

Do you tutor college/adult students?

Yes. We tutor undergraduate level subjects as well as undergraduate and graduate level standardized tests.

We offer tutoring throughout the greater Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego areas including the following locations:

We make it easy to schedule sessions. Our Tutors/Consultants will come to your home, school, or other location of your choosing at times that work best with your schedule.

How long is a tutoring session?

One session is 60 minutes. A session may be extended at the parent’s or student’s request (tutor’s schedule permitting).

How many sessions does my child need to improve his/her grade?

We treat each student as a unique individual. We can recommend the number of sessions once we have assessed your child’s strengths, areas of improvement, learning style, and academic goals.

Do you offer tutoring in small groups?

Yes. Some students may even prefer the camaraderie of being tutored in a small group setting alongside their siblings, friends, and/or peers.  The normal hourly rate for a single student is lower for additional students, making group sessions an affordable option among friends and/or families.

Do you have multiple session discounts?

We offer special pricing for our academic tutoring packages, high school/college prep packages and small group tutoring.

Do you guarantee your services?

We guarantee a high level of quality service.  If you are ever in any way dissatisfied, please let us know so we can remedy the problem.  Our TutorMatch Guarantee guarantees an ideal match within 2 sessions or your money back.

What is your tutor hiring and background check policy?

Our hiring process is quite extensive. We require all of our tutors to have strong academic backgrounds, subject mastery, teaching experience, as well as the ability to connect with students and parents. Our high standards account for a selective 2% hiring rate of the total number of applicants. We conduct multiple rounds of interviews, including mock tutoring sessions, and reference checks. Only after a complete vetting process and training are prospective tutors invited to join the TutorNerds team.

My child’s subject needs are changing…do I keep the same tutor?

If the tutor has proficiency of the subject in question and schedule availability, we encourage the relationship to continue. If this is not the case, we will introduce you to another tutor.
