Probably not. If you need tutoring for a class for school, the materials used for tutoring sessions would be the materials from the class. In some cases your tutor may recommend additional materials. If you are interested in an enrichment program with TutorNerds, your tutor will suggest specific workbooks or other materials that will relate to your goals.

In order to maximize the productivity and impact of a session, we recommend 90-minute sessions. However our minimum session duration is 1 hour. You are welcome to request a longer session time. You tutor may also recommend longer sessions depending on your unique situation. Beyond the first hour, we bill in 15-minute increments. For example: a session lasting 1 hour and 12 minutes will be billed at 1.25 times the hourly rate. Note: Our test preparation sessions are always 2 hours in duration.

There is no set schedule for sessions. You can have sessions as often as you like. Every student has a unique situation and requires different strategies for success. We generally recommend having 2-3 sessions per week, of 60-90 minutes in duration. Your tutor can make more personal recommendations during your first session.

We treat each student as a unique individual. We can recommend the number of sessions once we have assessed your child’s strengths, areas of improvement, learning style, and academic goals. We do not have a set requirement for session purchases. It depends on the class and circumstances. In addition, once you begin tutoring your tutor will be able to assess the student’s situation and make specialized recommendations regarding session frequency and duration. Standard sessions are charged to your credit card as they occur, so you pay as you go.
